Arsenal are reportedly willing to sell Shkodran Mustafi in the next week so long as they can recoup the £34million spent on the Germany international last summer.

Mustafi has divided opinion amongst Arsenal fans since arriving at the Emirates last August and his debut season in England was blighted by injury concerns.

The 25-year-old defender struggled in the second-half of the season after suffering an injury before Christmas and Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out a surprise departure before Thursday’s deadline.

Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Juventus have made enquiries into the possibility of signing Mustafi and the Daily Mirror say the Gunners are now considering offloading the German.

Inter hope to strike a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move next summer and it is claimed Arsenal will allow him to leave if they can get his transfer fee back.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also expected to leave the Emirates in the next week – Liverpool have shown interest in the England international but Chelsea are said to be in pole position to secure his signature.

Despite two first-team players closing in on departures, Arsenal are not expected to complete any more incomings although they are still monitoring Virgil van Dijk’s situation after he handed in a transfer request.
