Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is closing in on a controversial move to Chelsea, with Antonio Conte’s side understood to have agreed a fee for the winger.

Reports suggest the clubs have reached a £35million agreement over Oxlade-Chamberlain’s proposed switch across London and a medical is expected in the next few days.

Liverpool were favourites to land the 24-year-old earlier this summer and the England international has admitted more than once that his idol while growing up was Kop legend Steven Gerrard.

However, Chelsea fans have begun digging up Oxlade-Chamberlain’s tweets from way back in 2012, suggesting that Conte’s target has ‘always been a Blue.’

The Englishman showed that he had a soft spot for Arsenal’s bitter rivals as Roberto Di Matteo’s makeshift side overcame the odds to lift the 2011/12 Champions League trophy.

During Chelsea’s stunning semi-final defeat of Barcelona, Oxlade-Chamberlain showed his love for Fernando Torres after the Spaniard’s crucial goal in the 88th minute.

‘So happy for Torres what a MASSIVE goal!!,’ the former Southampton man tweeted.

And during Chelsea’s triumph in the final against Bayern Munich, Oxlade-Chamberlain couldn’t help but show his support for the Blues.

Unsurprisingly, the tweets have been bombarded with welcome messages from Chelsea supporters…
