Arsenal’s players are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with Alexis Sanchez and want to see him sold before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Chile international has been linked with a move to Manchester City for much of the last few months, though Arsene Wenger has repeatedly insisted he would not be sold.

Sanchez now looks set to leave the Gunners on a free when his contract expires at the end of the season, though City have continued their efforts to sign him before this week’s transfer deadline.

However, surprise reports now claim City and Sanchez are not the only ones who want a deal done this season, but that a growing number of the Arsenal squad are also keen to see him go.

The 28-year-old is known for being something of a moody character and difficult to manage, with many at the club now feeling he has become a disruptive influence, according to the Daily Telegraph.

It remains to be seen if this will be enough to persuade Wenger to change his stance so late on in the summer, particularly with no apparent replacement in sight.

Arsenal were linked with the likes of Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez earlier in the summer, but both moves look dead in the water at this stage.

City winger Raheem Sterling has been offered to the north Londoners as part of a bid for Sanchez, but it has been reported that Sergio Aguero would be their preferred pick from Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The Argentine striker, however, is not keen on a move to the Emirates Stadium, meaning Sanchez will surely be staying put as Wenger has suggested all along.

Still, it could yet be that keeping the former Barcelona man proves more problematic than expected, with so many of his team-mates now also unsettled by his situation and by the way he has applied himself throughout.

Serious concerns have apparently been raised since the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend, with both Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain putting in poor displays amid uncertainty over their futures.

Other Arsenal players are said to believe that the result shows that commitment from everyone at the club is now needed more than ever following this disappointing start to the season.
