Chelsea and Manchester United are both weighing up transfer deadline day moves for former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna, reports claim.

The France international is out of contract since leaving the Etihad in the summer but he could be set for a sensational return to the Premier League as a back-up at either Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford.

Antonio Conte has been furiously pursuing cover for Victor Moses in the right wing-back role and was disappointed that a deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fell through.

While his top targets are Bayern Munich star Rafinha and Southampton full-back Cedric Soares, he is prepared to offer the 34-year-old Frenchman a return to action should he struggle to land them, according to the Daily Star.

Jose Mourinho is also eyeing Sagna to offer competition for Antonio Valencia.

The Portuguese values his experience in both the Premier League and in the Champions League and sees him as a useful potential addition.
