Arsene Wenger claims Alexis Sanchez has told him that he is fully focused on Arsenal’s upcoming campaign in the Premier League and the Europa League.
The Chile international was on the brink of joining Manchester City on deadline day but Arsenal pulled the plug on a £60 million deal as they failed to sign a replacement.
Sanchez was reportedly upset at his failed transfer and is poised to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires.
But Wenger is adamant that he has no question marks over Sanchez’s commitment to Arsenal after a conversation with the forward, who came on as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
‘He’s very focused, works hard,’ said the Arsenal manager.
‘He told me he’s focused on the Premier League and the Europa League, and ready to have a go.
‘Still looks a bit short physically, because he came back late, after that he was injured, but he will be quickly back.’
