Mesut Ozil trained away from the rest of Arsenal’s first-team squad in the final session before their trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

The Germany international was one of seven senior players to miss training on Wednesday and was not part of Arsenal’s matchday squad for the 3-1 victory over Koln in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

On Friday, Arsene Wenger admitted that Ozil and Aaron Ramsey were both doubts for Sunday’s clash at Stamford Bridge but was optimistic that they would be available.

Ramsey was pictured in training on Saturday, while Alexandre Lacazette, Laurent Koscielny, Granit Xhaka, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck also returned after sitting out Wednesday’s session.

But doubts have now been raised over Ozil’s availability as he was not seen alongside his teammates as Arsenal made their final preparations before facing the Premier League champions.

For Thursday’s win in the Europa League, Wenger made nine changes to his side and is expected to rotate heavily once again for the clash against Antonio Conte’s men.
