Chelsea’s much anticipated clash with Arsenal may have ended 0-0 but the meeting was not short of incident.

David Luiz was sent off, Shkodran Mustafi had a goal ruled out for offside and both sides had chances to win the contest.

However it was Arsenal who will emerge with most credit after a controlled performance that many thought they were incapable of, particularly after their recent 4-0 capitulation to Liverpool.

How impressive Arsenal’s performance was was highlighted by one stat.

With the 0-0 result they became the first side to stop Chelsea scoring in a competitive home match since Antonio Conte took charge – a stretch of 27 games.

It was also the first time Conte had drawn a match at Stamford Bridge since taking charge of the Blues.

It meant Arsenal claimed a point at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2011.
