Manchester United have offered trials to over a dozen youth players who find themselves without a club after Huddersfield opted to close their academy.

After a lack of success, the Premier League newcomers have made the decision to downgrade their youth set up. The Daily Mail reports that parents of the players affected have been informed.

Canny clubs have been quick to take advantage of the situation, with Manchester United among them.

It’s reported that the Red Devils have offered trials to 15 youth players, all of whom are under 16.

Man City, Everton and Liverpool have also expressed interest in those who find themselves without a club.

Due to the circumstances, clubs that take players on will not have to pay any compensation.

Among the players involved are Rocco Fragapane and Raj Mahmood, who have both earned England Under-16 call-ups. Harry Rowe and Sam Murray are also reportedly among those invited to Manchester United’s Carrington training complex for a chance to impress.
