Chelsea boss Antonio Conte hailed Eden Hazard after his side’s 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Antoine Griezmann put the La Liga giants ahead but Alvaro Morata levelled proceedings before Michy Batshuayi’s dramatic winner in injury time.

Hazard, 26, was making just his second start of the season but the Belgian was a constant threat for the Blues and set-up Morata for Chelsea’s equaliser.

The winger showed few signs of his lack of game time so far this season and Conte was quick to praise Hazard for his sparkling performance.

‘We must be very happy because Eden’s performance was amazing,’ said Conte.

‘It was the first big game for him [this season] after a bad injury and his answer was fantastic.

‘It was positive and he made a great link with Alvaro.’
