Manchester United have been warned that target Krepin Diatta is being watched by numerous ‘big clubs’ and will cost ‘a lot of money’.
The Red Devils have watched the 18-year-old on a number of occasions in the last year and had scouts present at Sarpsborg’s clash with Odd on the weekend.
Mourinho spent another £150m in his second summer at the club, signing Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.
The 54-year-old will be given more money to spend in January but Mourinho’s been warned that United face strong competition for Diatta.
‘There were three big clubs here [on Monday], and that is natural as he is the most exciting young player in the Norwegian Premier League,’ said Sarpsborg sporting director Thomas Berntsen.
‘The clubs that are looking at him are clubs with big wallets. He will cost a lot of money, without any shadow of doubt.
‘We are in a good position and he will get better and better, and as long as he doesn’t get injured, his value will increase.
‘What I can say is that there are many clubs watching Diatta.’
