Sergio Aguero admits he is ‘hurt badly’ after being involved in a car crash in Amsterdam ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Chelsea on Saturday.

The Argentina international was a passenger in a taxi en route to Amsterdam airport after attending a concert by Colombian singer Maluma on Thursday evening.

The striker, who has suffered a fractured rib from the incident, was taken to a hospital in Netherlands but is due to return to Manchester on Friday afternoon.

‘The taxi driver did not see the curve and skid,’ Aguero told Radio Metro de Argentina.

‘I broke my rib, now I’m resting. It hurts me badly.

‘I’ll be discharged in a little while.’

On Friday, Pep Guardiola confirmed Aguero will miss City’s fixture against Chelsea and is unsure when the striker will be available to play.

‘No, he cannot play tomorrow [against Chelsea], for the international break he cannot play there for Argentina,’ he said.

‘Our first impression we have is he’s broken a rib, but how many days off I don’t know.’
