Arsene Wenger is not giving up on Arsenal winning the Premier League title after his side beat Brighton 2-0 at the Emirates.
The Gunners cruised by the top flight newcomers with Nacho Monreal and Alex Iwobi scoring either side of half-time.
It is the eleventh league win in a row at home for Arsenal who have clawed their way back up the table after a disappointing start to the campaign.
Manchester City sit top with 19 points, but Wenger insisted their start last season proves the first seven games mean very little.
‘Only seven games played, 31 to go,’ said Wenger after the game.

‘Last year after six games Man City was top with 18 points.
‘Let’s not go to quick conclusions. It’s a long way to go.’
City were well off the pace when Chelsea were crowned champions last season and finished 15 points off the leaders.
Arsenal finished fifth, missing out on Champions League football, and Wenger is desperate to bounce back from one of the worst season of his tenure as manager.
City sit six points ahead of Arsenal in the table and have been heavily tipped to champions come the end of the season.
Liverpool smashed 4-0 Arsenal at the end of August and Wenger is delighted his side has managed to bounce back.
‘In this job you only look for the next game,’ he said.
‘When you look back you see the distance you have made. Overall, football changed a lot in this 21 years.
‘We kept the clean sheet and of course got three points.
‘We have played more fluent than today but playing Monday, Thursday and today, it was important to get three points.
‘We eased off in concentration and decision-making and then it becomes a bit harder.
‘The question mark is there when you change so many players, can you keep cohesion? It was a difficult week because the game at BATE was a difficult game. I am pleased.’
