Krepin Diatta has been strongly linked with Manchester United in recent weeks but the midfielder’s entourage have attempted to cool the situation.

The 18-year-old prospect, who signed a new contract with Norwegian club Sarpsborg back in February, has admitted he ‘dreams’ of a move to Old Trafford and United are expressing a strong interest.

Diatta’s agent revealed that he has held talks with United in July but the youngster’s entourage have now suggested that a big Premier League move may be a step to far.

They told FootMercato: ‘The objective for now is to play.

‘I don’t think he’s ready for a big European club. You need to go through the steps methodically.’

‘We’ll see what happens in the future.’
