Chelsea forward Michy Batshauyi says Alvaro Morata’s injury is a ‘chance’ for him to show Antonio Conte what he’s capable of.

The Spaniard limped out of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday and scans show he has sustained a grade II hamstring tear.~

The striker is expected to miss up to six weeks of action and Chelsea could play as many as seven matches without Morata.

Conte turned to Willian rather than Batshauyi against City but the Belgian says he is ready to replace Morata.

‘It sounds strange to say, but someone’s bad luck is sometimes the happiness of the other,’ said Batshuayi.

‘I know that I will have more playing opportunities in the coming weeks. It’s up to me to show that I’m capable. I know Conte has confidence in me. Otherwise, he would have let me leave during the summer

‘It’s a chance for me. If I’m called on, I want to be ready and efficient. I have to stay really focused.

‘I’ve already started games at Chelsea and played well. I’m an efficient striker, but I’m not a joker.’
