Alvaro Morata has joined up with his team-mates in training ahead of Chelsea’s mouthwatering clash with Roma on Wednesday evening.

The 24-year-old has been out of action after sustaining a hamstring injury in Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City on September 30 in the lead-up to the international break.

Antonio Conte spoke about Morata’s hamstring problem after the Blues’ dismal defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday and was hopeful the Spaniard would be fit for the Champions League encounter in midweek.

And on Sunday afternoon, Chelsea’s official account tweeted out pictures of the striker taking part in training drills at the club’s training base in Cobham.

‘As you know very well we have three injured players. Morata, I hope to have him back very soon, I hope for the next game against Roma,’ Conte said after the disappointment at Selhurst Park.

‘[Danny] Drinkwater is progressing well but not ready yet.

‘We must have patience with him and this calf problem.’
