Chelsea are lining up Carlo Ancelotti as a replacement for Antonio Conte, according to reports.

The Sun claims that the Premier League champions do not expect Conte to see out the remainder of his contract, which expires in June 2019, and are already preparing for the Italian’s exit.

The report claims that Ancelotti is Chelsea’s first-choice candidate to succeed Conte and has kept in contact with Chelsea chiefs since he left Stamford Bridge.

Ancelotti was sacked by Roman Abramovich in May 2011 after he ended his second season at Chelsea without a trophy.

The report also claims that Ancelotti is aware of Chelsea’s interest and is ready to turn down offers from other clubs in order to get a second chance at Stamford Bridge.

The 58-year-old is currently out of work after he was sacked by Bayern Munich at the end of September.
