Manchester United are reportedly plotting a transfer move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier.

Meunier had an impressive debut season at PSG last term but the 26-year-old is struggling for game-time following the arrival of Brazilian icon Dani Alves ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.

The Belgium right-back admitted earlier this month that he’s ‘frustrated’ with a lack of minutes under Unai Emery at the Parc des Princes which appears to have put the Red Devils on alert.

According to The Daily Express, the Premier League giants are ready to make a £30million move for Meunier and have been keeping tabs on the full-back for some time.

United are on the hunt for Antonio Valencia’s long-term replacement at Old Trafford and Meunier is understood to be Jose Mourinho’s priority target.

‘Yes [I am frustrated] because I want to play every match, whether it’s against Gueugnon, Niort or Bayern Munich,’ the Belgium international admitted earlier this month.

‘I want to be on the pitch every time. I am in a team which is one of the top five in the world where the back-ups and the starters are about the same level.’

Back in February, Meunier admitted he dreams of joining United, the club he has supported since childhood.

He said: ‘On the other side of the Channel, there are the stadiums, the fans.

‘And I’ve never hidden that I’m a big fan of Manchester United, which remains, in my eyes, the real reference in the world of football.’
