Arsenal are open to letting Mesut Ozil join Manchester United in January if the Red Devils meet the club’s £30million valuation of the playmaker.

The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and last held talks with the club over a new deal in March.

The 29-year-old spent three seasons under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and the Portuguese boss remains in contact with the midfielder.

Ozil attracted little interest last summer but plenty of clubs across Europe will be interested if he’s available on a free at the end of the season.

To avoid an open auction, United are willing to buy Ozil in January but Arsenal want £30m for the German to let him go, according to the Daily Star.

Ozil is eligible to play in the Champions League after playing in the Europa League for the Gunners this term.

Arsenal last sold a player to Manchester United in 2012 when Robin van Persie moved to Old Trafford for £22.5m.

The Dutchman inspired United to their 20th league title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season in management.
