Arsenal are keeping tabs on Lyon’s attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to reports in Spain.

The 24-year-old has been one of Ligue 1’s standout performers this season with 11 goals and four assists in 11 appearances.

Sport claim that Fekir’s displays have attracted interest from Barcelona, and the La Liga leaders are closely monitoring the midfielder.

But the report also claims that Arsene Wenger has a keen interest in Fekir and views the France international as a good replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is expected to leave on a free transfer next summer.

Should he end up at Arsenal, Fekir would link back up with Alexandre Lacazette, his former teammate at Lyon.

Lacazette made the move to north London this summer as Arsenal paid a club-record £46.5 million fee to sign him from the French side.

Earlier this week, Fekir admitted that the Premier League and La Liga would be ideal destinations for him.

‘Those are the two most attractive leagues, where they love football,’ he said.

‘From a technical point of view, it is neat. It is the best! In Spain, even the smaller teams are not scared of playing.’
