Arsene Wenger is preparing to launch a £35 million bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, according to reports.

The 25-year-old has made only five appearances this season due to a knee injury but has still scored two goals, including the winner in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea in September.

The Sun claims that Wenger is targeting replacements for Alexis Sanchez and is ready to push ahead with a move for Zaha.

The report also claims that Porto’s Yacine Brahimi has also been scouted by Arsenal, but Wenger prefers to prioritise a deal for Zaha.

Arsenal are bracing themselves for Sanchez exit, and the Chilean could leave as early as the January transfer window if Manchester City manage to reach an agreement.

Should City fail, they could still sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer next summer once his contract with Arsenal expires.

Zaha, meanwhile, has shown that he would be a decent fit on Arsenal’s right flank.

Last season, the winger registered his best-ever campaign in the Premier League with seven goals and nine assists in 35 appearances.
