Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has wished Arsenal a ‘Merry Christmas’ after the Gunners were handed a favourable fixture list over the festive period.

Arsenal play Liverpool on December 22nd and do not play again until they travel to Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace on December 28th.

By comparison, Manchester United travel to Leicester City on December 23rd and face Burnley at home on Boxing Day.

Mourinho admits he moans about the fixture list but he couldn’t help but take a swipe at Arsenal over their layout.

‘For example, here’s another theme. And you probably have to agree with me,’ said Mourinho.

‘Do you think it is possible for Arsenal to play 22nd of December and 28th of December? Do you think it is possible?

‘You know, I wish them a Happy Christmas because they are going to have a Christmas while others they play 23-26.’

United get their title challenge back on track against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday and Mourinho will be hoping to welcome back some players.

Paul Pogba has been sidelined for the last three months and could take a place on the bench, while Michael Carrick has also resumed first-team training.
