Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal will revert to type against Burnley next weekend, despite enjoying a confidence boosting win in the north London derby.

Goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez ensured Arsene Wenger’s side enjoyed their first Premier League win over Spurs for three-and-a-half years on Saturday.

Arsenal took Spurs on at their own game, relentlessly pressing and harrying their opponents into mistakes and showcasing their usual flair in attack with Mesut Ozil walking away with a deserved man of the match award.

Former England and Manchester United defender Ferdinand, however, believes there are no guarantees the Gunners will produce the same performance at Turf Moor in a week’s time against Sean Dyche’s obdurate outfit.

He told BT Sport: ‘I’ll back Burnley to win that game they’re in good form it’s a hard place to go and you don’t know what you’re going to get out of Arsenal.

‘This isn’t about Mesut Ozil this is about the whole Arsenal team. The way they played today to a man.

‘The pressing the intensity of their game today. But you watch them play 10 games you might get that three or four times and the other five or six it’s not the same.

‘At the top of the game when the margins are so small you can’t afford to take your foot off the gas.

‘It’s not hard to get up for the north london derby, you bounce out of bed. You want that every week. You want that away at Stoke. You don’t know what you’re going to get from Arsenal next week.’
