Eden Hazard believes Chelsea are capable of hauling in runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City after Saturday’s thumping win over West Brom.

The Belgium international has looked back to his very best in recent weeks having missed the start of the season following surgery on an ankle injury over the summer.

Hazard scored twice and had a hand in Alvaro Morata’s opener as Chelsea recorded their fourth win in five games in all competitions at the scene of last year’s title-clinching victory.

Despite an impressive run of form, the defending champions are still nine points behind Pep Guardiola’s Premier League pacesetters who have won 11 of their 12 league games this term.

‘Manchester City are winning a lot of games but we want to close the gap,’ said Hazard after the 4-0 win that pushed West Brom boss Tony Pulis closer to the sack.
