Paul Pogba has urged Jose Mourinho not to rest him ahead of Manchester United’s congested fixture schedule over the festive period.

After United’s win over Brighton last weekend, Mourinho admitted he was uneasy about playing Pogba for 90 minutes so soon after the midfielder’s return from his hamstring injury.

But injuries to Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini mean that the France international is set to be given an extended run in the team.

Pogba and United travel to face Arsenal on Saturday but the 24-year-old has told Mourinho that he wants to play.

‘Obviously it is tiring to play all of the those games, but that’s what you want,’ he told the Manchester Evening News.

‘That’s what you play football for. You sacrifice, but you enjoy it, so you go through it and you just want to recover to play those games.

‘I’ve played three games in a row. I played my last two games for 90 minutes so I need a bit more time to feel 100 percent – but I’m still good to play.’
