The agent of Barcelona misfit Arda Turan has fueled rumours that the midfielder is set to join Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Turan, 30, who completed a move to the Nou Camp back in 2015, is yet to make an appearance for the Catalan giants this term and is being heavily linked with a transfer to the Emirates ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

It’s understood Barca are offering the Turkey international in exchange for Mesut Ozil, with Ernesto Valverde rivaling Manchester United for 29-year-old’s signature in the new year.

Turan’s representative, Ahmet Bulut, insists that Turan will be leaving Barcelona in January and confirmed that he had been in talks with several European clubs.

‘It’s not clear right now where he is going but he will leave from Barcelona in January,’ Bulut said.

‘We’re talking with three or four teams from Spain, Italy and England. There is no contact with Galatasaray.

‘After 15 days we’ll make a final decision. There are two options: he will be sold or loaned.’

Bulut shared a picture on Instagram of himself and Turan in London earlier this week amid speculation of an imminent move to Arsenal.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes Jose Mourinho can the best out of Ozil at Old Trafford.

Since he signed for Arsenal and moved to the Premier League he’s got the most assists and created the most chances out of every player, Ferdinad said on BT Sport.

‘That tells you what calibre of player he is.

‘I played against him when he was at Real Madrid and he’s a different player to what he was then.

‘He’s deceptively quick and if you can get that extra [bit of work rate] out of him I’d take him on a free transfer all day long. Jose Mourinho will get that out of him.’
