Manchester City appeared to kick-start their title celebrations in the aftermath of the side’s 2-1 defeat over Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola’s men went 11 points clear of their bitter rivals at the top of the Premier League table after goals from David Silva and Nicolas Otamendi sealed three crucial points at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho refused to admit that the title race was over in his post-match interview, but Ilkuy Gundogan and Lorey Sane dropped a massive hint that City believe it’s already wrapped up.

One of Guardiola’s players or staff had brought confetti to the ground and it had been flung in the air as City’s stars posed for the photograph.

‘Tuesday is another day of the Premier League – I’m pretty sure that everyone is going to fight for points to reduce the gap in the championship.

‘The advantage, of course, is a very good one.’
