Jose Mourinho told Ederson to ‘f*****g show respect’ moments before players and staff from Manchester United and Manchester City were involved in a major bust-up at Old Trafford.

The incident occurred after United suffered a 2-1 defeat to City on Sunday, which has left Mourinho’s men 11 points behind Guardiola’s side at the top of the Premier League.

Mourinho was irked by the noise City’s players and staff were making in their dressing room after the victory.

With the door to the away team changing room open, the United manager reportedly told City’s players to turn their music down.

Ederson, who was standing in close proximity to Mourinho by the doorway, began to trade insults in Portuguese with the United boss.

According to The Guardian, Mourinho switched the row to English, telling City’s goalkeeper: ‘You f******g show respect. Who are you?’

Mourinho is also said to have accused Ederson of time wasting by faking an injury during the match.

The confrontation then escalated between the two teams with players and staff from both sides getting involved.

Mikel Arteta, one of City’s first-team coaches, suffered a cut to his right eyebrow after a sports drink was allegedly thrown at his head.

A carton of milk was also thrown from inside City’s dressing room in the direction of Mourinho. It missed the United manager but hit the wall behind him and split.

Romelu Lukaku was also said to be heavily involved in the melee, although the extent of the Belgian’s actions are unclear.

The two sets of players were separated by security staff who were standing close to the entrance of the tunnel.

United and City officials must now provide their own account of what happened in separate reports to the Football Association by Wednesday.
