Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe took a sly dig at Manchester City by ‘liking’ a photo on Instagram mocking Pep Guardiola’s side following Sunday’s tunnel bust-up at Old Trafford.

The two teams were involved in a brawl after City’s 2-1 win at the Theatre of Dreams after Jose Mourinho’s side felt City’s celebrations were overzealous.

Mourinho is said to have been heavily involved, while Romelu Lukaku is reported to have tried to ‘slam dunk’ a number of City players.

Marcos Rojo is believed to have headed a separate group including Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera and Tuanzebe as a fight broke out that left Mikel Arteta with a cut eye.

Both Guardiola and Mourinho were keen to play down the incident in their press conferences on Tuesday but Tuanzebe has stoked the fire once more by liking a photo mocking City.

The photo in question refers to Manchester United as ‘the most successful English club’ while Manchester City have ‘the most empty seats’.

The 20-year-old, who was born and raised in Manchester, liked the photo from his official Instagram account.

City’s win means they take an 11-point lead into the festive period and they face Swansea at the Liberty Stadium tonight while United take on Bournemouth at home.
