Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho says he won’t stand in the way of Marouane Fellaini or Henrikh Mkhitaryan if they want to leave the club in January.

Fellaini, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and refused the club’s last offer, while Mkhitaryan has been left out of seven of United’s last eight matchday squads after a drop in form.

Mourinho sold Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin in last January’s transfer window and raised around £50m for his summer budget.

United are keen on keeping Fellaini but a move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil suggests Mkhitaryan is surplus to requirements.

And Mourinho says he’s willing to sell any unsettled player for the right price.

‘I think for the right price. That’s my approach as a manager, in cases where the club advises me,’ said Mourinho.

‘I think every player has a price. If a player is not happy, if a player brings with him the request with the number that we consider a good number for us – like it happened for us last season with Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin – I would never say no.’

United trail Manchester City by 11 points in the title race and will be hoping Tottenham can take something at the Etihad in Saturday’s tea time kick-off.
