Antonio Valencia hobbled out of Manchester United’s clash with West Bromwich Albion midway through the second half, seemingly holding his hamstring.

The Ecuador international has been a vital part of the United outfit under Jose Mourinho this season, starting all 18 of their Premier League matches.

But United may be forced to be without him in the coming weeks after he limped off at the Hawthorns.

Mourinho has Matteo Darmian in reserve, while he could also switch Ashley Young to the right-back role and deploy the likes of Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo or Luke Shaw on the left-hand side.

With four games coming up in the next 10 days, Valencia’s absence could prove to be a major blow and Mourinho will be desperate for him to return sooner rather than later.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard had put United in complete control against Alan Pardew’s side as United looked to restore momentum after a disappointing defeat to Manchester City just a week ago.

However, Gareth Barry pulled one back with more than 10 minutes to go to make things uncomfortable for the Red Devils.
