Manchester United staff were sent to Paul Pogba’s home after the midfielder missed the start of a training session because he overslept, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claims that United’s record £89 million signing failed to appear for a warm-down session after the 3-1 win over Arsenal earlier this month.

Pogba did not pick up his phone to remind him that he was due at United’s training base, so the club’s care staff were ordered to pay the midfielder a visit  at his home to wake him up.

The incident has allegedly not gone down well with some of United’s players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ashley Young and Michael Carrick.

The report that’s that United’s senior stars are ‘exasperated’ by how some of the side’s younger players are behaving with United’s care staff, who have even been sent out on trips to buy toothpaste.

Pogba returned from three-match suspension on Wednesday although the midfielder struggled as United were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Bristol City.

Earlier this week, Mourinho admitted that he was welcome to have the 24-year-old back in his team.

‘We missed him,’ said the United manager.

‘We all know that he’s a very important player for us.

‘First because of an important injury and after because of suspension.

‘We were for too long for too many matches without him.’
