The sister of Manchester United star Henrikh Mkhitaryan has fueled rumours that the midfielder is set to rejoin Dortmund in the January transfer window.

The Armenian is out of favour under Jose Mourinho and his last start for the club came in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on November 5th.

United spent £26million on signing Mkhitaryan from Dortmund 18 months ago but the Bundesliga giants are believed to be keen on re-signing the playmaker.

And Mkhitaryan’s sister has done little to quash the speculation with her recent activity on Twitter.

Monika Mkhitaryan tweeted on Thursday morning to highlight the amount of love the 28-year-old was receiving from Dortmund fans on Instagram.

‘Thousands of Yellow Hearts on @HenrikhMKH Instagram overnight #Mkhitaryan,’ tweeted Monika.

Dortmund fans were unimpressed with the way in which Mkhitaryan forced through a move to Old Trafford but they’re clearly keen on seeing him return to the club.

Reports on Wednesday claimed Mkhitaryan is keen on a return to the club but would have to apologise to senior members of staff before he could re-sign.
