Manchester United plan to deploy Paul Pogba to help secure the transfer of Paulo Dybala, according to reports.

The Juventus striker has been identified as the ideal signing to bolster the club’s attack and a bid in the region of £90million is expected in January.

A deal for the Argentina international won’t be simple, but it’s hoped Pogba can help clear a path.

Pogba played alongside Dybala at Juventus and the pair were good friends in Turin. It’s hoped the Frenchman can convince Dybala of the merits of joining Jose Mourinho’s squad, report the Daily Mail.

Pogba performed a similar task in luring Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford over the summer.

The need for attacking reinforcements at Manchester United is all the more imperative amidst injuries to both Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Lukaku went off on a stretcher during the 0-0 draw with Southampton on Saturday following a clash of heads. Meanwhile Ibrahimovic is out for a month with a ‘serious problem’.

Dybala has been a consistent performer in Serie A over recent years, with 11 goals last season and 19 the year before that for Juventus. This term the 24-year-old has already scored 14 times.

Reports suggest Dybala has superseded Antoine Griezmann as the top target at Manchester United.

Former Premier League player Shaka Hislop believes Dybala would be a success at Old Trafford.

‘Dybala would be a good fit anywhere he goes,’ he said.

‘If Manchester United pull this off, it would be an amazing coup for them.

“I think he graces United, he graces just about any club. It would be a hit if it happens.’
