A member of the agency representing Malcom has been spotted in London amid speculation that the forward is close to signing for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is scouring the market for attacking reinforcements and is resigned to losing Alexis Sanchez this January, with Manchester United battling Manchester City for the 29-year-old Chilean.

Thomas Lemar was Arsenal’s priority target to replace Sanchez in the summer but it’s understood Wenger is pushing to land Bordeaux star Malcom before the January transfer window slams shut.

Reports suggest the Gunners are closing in on a £45million deal for Malcom and are increasingly confident of signing the 20-year-old Brazilian.

Malcom revealed last week that he is learning English, fueling rumours of an imminent move to the Premier League.

And on Friday evening, a member of the agency representing him, Elenko Sports, uploaded a photograph from London.

Bordeaux would prefer to keep hold of Malcom until the summer and the club’s president denied that the youngster could be on the move in January.

‘He will not leave this winter,’ Stephane Martin insisted last month.

‘Even if we are ready in the process? I do not see what would be the interest of a club to do that.’

Asked about Malcom ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Bournemouth, Wenger replied: ‘He’s a good player.

‘But at the moment, there as well nothing is happening.’

The Brazil Under-23 international is tied into a contract at Bordeaux until the summer of 2021.
