Jack Wilshere must agree to a pay cut if he wants to remain at Arsenal, according to reports.

The 26-year-old’s current deal with the Gunners expires at the end of the season and he could be available as a free agent this summer.

Wilshere has expressed his desire to stay at Arsenal and has suggested that talks could take place in the coming weeks.

But according to The Sun, the midfielder must agree to a 20 per cent pay cut to his £90,000-a-week salary.

The report also claims that the midfielder must pass a full medical.

‘The club want Jack to stay but have to make sure he is over the problems he has suffered over the past few years,’ a source at Arsenal told The Sun.

Wilshere has been one of Arsenal’s in-form players in recent weeks and former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton believes Arsenal’s latest offer is ‘insulting’ to the midfielder.
