Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent is travelling to London to talk over a £53million move with Arsenal, according to reports in Germany.

The 28-year-old forward has submitted a transfer request at Borussia Dortmund and is understood to have agreed personal terms to join the Gunners before the January transfer window slams shut.

Arsene Wenger has been scoring the market for Alexis Sanchez’s replacement, with the 29-year-old Chilean on the cusp of completing a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Bild suggests Aubameyang’s agent – who also happens to be his father – is flying to England to discuss further a transfer to the Emirates.

The Gabon international hinted that he was keen to move to London on Instagram earlier this week and it appears Arsenal are edging closer to signing Sanchez’s replacement.

It’s believed Dortmund are lining up a move for Chelsea misfit Michy Batshuayi to replace Aubameyang at the Westfalenstadion.

Peter Stoger, though, poured cold water on rumours of Aubameyang’s imminent exit, claiming that the attacker remains in Dortmund’s plans.

‘For me it is just logical [that Aubameyang stays],’ Dortmund’s boss said following their draw with Wolfsburg.

‘I expect everything to be as it was. He is a player of Dortmund, he trains and he is in our plans for the upcoming match.’

Asked if the forward would be punished with extra training, Stoger replied: ‘No, if that was a punishment, I would have been there [on the training field] and would be watching him.

‘I have the feeling that he is a very stubborn character and is also ambitious. I guess he understood [being dropped]. Let’s see how it develops in the next days.’
