Paul Pogba reportedly had to be roused from his bed after he missed a warm-down session earlier this month.

The Manchester United star did not show for the session on December 3 which followed his side's 3-1 win over Arsenal the day before.

Repeated attempts to contact the Frenchman by phone were unsuccessful and a support team was dispatched to his house, reports the Daily Mail .

Pogba, 24, was sent off at the Emirates as United Antonio Valencia and Jesse Lingard sealed the victory.

He featured three days later in the Champions League but was then absent for a fortnight until he featured in United's 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat by Bristol City on Wednesday.

Pogba re-joined United from Juventus for £89million last summer but was advised this week by Paul Scholes to stop overdoing it.

Scholes reckons goalscoring midfielders of his ilk aare a thing of the past and Chelsea's N'Golo Kante is now the "perfect" Premier League midfielder leaving Pogba with work to do to match his countryman.

Scholes told French magazine So Foot, said: "Paul Pogba can be this box-to-box midfielder, although he can do a lot better, especially score more goals.

"He has a big range of attributes. He is fast, his passing game is exceptional. I am sure he will cross these levels.

"Mentally, he still has a lot of room to improve to become more consistent.

"He should especially try not to do so many complicated things.

"He has a high price tag [£89m] and maybe that gives him the feeling that he has to show off his talent.

"But he doesn't have the profile to dribble past three or four players before hitting it in the top corner.

"He will never be this type of player and sometimes he tries too much to do things that do not match his qualities.

"If he starts to try to dribble players, he is no longer himself."
