Harry Kane gave a master-class in strike play taking his September goals total to 13.

The Spurs and England star is in a class of his own dismantling the Terriers with two goals in the first 23 minutes.

Kane’s monthly haul put down a marker for Gareth Southgate to make him permanent England captain.

His double here destroyed Town, whose hapless defence couldn’t cope in the first quarter of the game.

The first goal came when Kieran Trippier powered a header into Huddersfield’s half and left back Chris Lowe waved a half-hearted leg at a clearance.

Kane sniffed the danger and seized the ball clear on goal, and on such a hot streak of scoring, never looked like missing.

Kane composed himself and curled right foot inside Jonas Lossl’s near post.

Ben Davies made it two, and comfortable, slotting home after more defensive shambles from the promoted side.

Kane laid off to Christian Eriksen, who was robbed by Lowe, only for his clearance to scuff across goal for Davies to steer home.

That’s three goals and three assists in last nine league games for Davies.

Kane made his second, and Spurs’ third out of nothing. He easily turned Christopher Schindler skipper across the edge of the box and fired into the top corner from 22 yards.

Just 23 minutes were on the clock and it was 3-0.

Spurs first win in Huddersfield since 1954.

They could have had more. Kane was narrowly offside, and Dele Alli hit the post before half time.

Alli, though was in trouble again for diving over keeper Jonas Lossl, blatant simulation that earned a yellow card.

Huddersfield were timid in defence and baffled by Spurs’ movement. With only one win, in August, it will a tough season.

After the early goal rush it took Spurs until injury time to get the fourth.

Ben Davies crossed for sub Moussa Sissoko to have a shot heavily deflected into the goal of Schindler.

Easy as that for Tottenham.

Their away form has been exceptional so far this term.

And what about Harry Kane....he can’t stop scoring.

Sensational.

Dele Alli in the book for a shocking dive.

He had taken the ball out of play and flung himself into the air under a challenge from Lossl.

Alli is an exceptional talent but there are too many of these silly moments.

He needs to cut them out.

Half-time!

What a half from Harry Kane.

He is untouchable at the moment.

The Tottenham striker has 13 goals in the month and he shows no sign of letting up.

His opener came after a mistake from Chris Lowe but he had plenty to do - and made it look easy.

Ben Davies added a second but this was the Kane show and he soon had his second.

The England striker cut inside from the left before curling a fine shot past Lossl.

Huddersfield started brightly and Depoitre has been a handful but with Kane in this kind of form, their task is a tough one.

Can Huddersfield contain Kane?

Harry Kane is the Premier League’s most in-form striker and keeping him contained will be Huddersfield’s primary concern today.

Welcome

Huddersfield head coach David Wagner will select from an unchanged squad for his side’s home Premier League game against Tottenham.

Wagner has no new injury concerns following last week’s goalless draw at Burnley, but club record signing Steve Mounie (foot) is still out having missed the last three games.

Fellow striker Collin Quaner (knee), plus midfielders Kasey Palmer (hamstring) and Danny Williams (foot) remain sidelined.

Christian Eriksen has recovered from illness and is available for Tottenham’s Premier League game against Huddersfield on Saturday but Serge Aurier is suspended.

Eriksen, who missed Tuesday’s Champions League win over Apoel Nicosia, is expected to return but Aurier will sit the game out after his red card against West Ham.

Mousa Dembele remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama are both still missing with knee problems. Erik Lamela is also out as he continues to recover from an injury to his hips.
