Jeff Hendrick's late winner settled a dour clash between Burnley and Newcastle.

Midfielder Hendrick broke the deadlock with 16 minutes to go to send the Clarets up to seventh and level on points with Liverpool.

Republic of Ireland international Hendrick tapped into an open goal from Johann Gudmundsson's cross to hand Sean Dyche the perfect five year anniversary present.

Javier Manquillo almost grabbed a last gasp equaliser but his header from Jonjo Shelvey's cross was diverted onto the roof of the net.
