The next generation of footballs biggest stars are hoping to make a breakthrough in the coming season.

The likes of Marcus Rashford , Tom Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all come through the ranks in recent seasons, establishing themselves as first-team regulars.

And after an incredible summer for England's youth sides, there should be more to follow in the next few years.

Premier League clubs are set to spend unprecedented amounts this summer but could they look a bit closer to home for first-team stars?

Reiss Nelson - Arsenal, winger

Age: 17

Regarded as one of Arsenal's hottest young prospects, Reiss Nelson impressed during the club's pre-season tour of Australia and also came off the bench against Chelsea in the Community Shield.

A local boy, Nelson is a product of the Arsenal academy system and has progressed through the club's ranks.

Harvey Barnes - Leicester

Age: 19

Position: Midfielder

A product of the Leicester City academy, Barnes is an attacking midfielder who has the ability to get forward.

The playmaker had a loan spell at MK Dons in the second half of last season and scored six goals.

This came after he made his Leicester debut in the Champions League defeat to Porto.

Tosin Adarabioyo - Manchester City

Adarabioyo has signed a new deal

Age: 19

Position: Defender

A local boy from Manchester, Tosin Adarabioyo is a man mountain.

He stands at 6 ft 5 in and is regarded as one of City's best prospects and a potential successor to Vincent Kompany.

In June 2017, Adarabioyo signed a new improved contract despite never making a first team appearance.

Brahim Diaz - Manchester City

Age: 18

Position: Midfielder

The Spanish youngster came through the ranks at Malaga before City bought the playmaker for £200,000 as a 16-year-old.

Diaz is a very attack minded midfield player and has excellent finishing ability. He made his debut for City in a cup tie against Swansea and scored against Real Madrid in pre-season.

Phil Foden - Manchester City

Position: Midfielder

A product of the Man City academy, Phil Foden is one of the gems of English football.

After making his first senior appearance for City in their pre-season International Champions Cup match against United, Foden earned high praise from Pep Guardiola.

He described the English press as 'lucky to have him'. His ability to weave in and out of players has caught the eye

Alfie Jones - Southampton

Age: 19

Position: Defender

Renowned for bringing players through their academy, Southampton may have found another top class player in Alfie Jones.

The centre back, who stands at 6 ft tall and has good aerial ability and could be seen in the first team next season.

Position: Winger

Widely regarded as one of Tottenham's best academy products, Edwards has drawn comparisons to a young Lionel Messi from manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Edwards' low centre of gravity and ability to beat a man makes him exciting to watch.

He has made one first team appearance for Tottenham, a substitute appearance in an EFL Cup game against Gillingham.

Brandon Mason - Watford

Position: Defender

A graduate from the Watford youth system, Brandon Mason has made two league appearances and two FA Cup appearances for the club.

Naturally left footed, Watford regard Mason as a real prospect.

Declan Rice - West Ham

Position: Defender

Signed by West Ham after formally being at Chelsea, Rice is one of West Ham's finest prospects.

He has one senior appearance to his name, coming on as a late substitute on the final day of the 2016/17 season against Burnley.
