As the Premier League's all-time top goalscorer it's hard to imagine who, if anyone, could cause Alan Shearer problems in front of goal.

The Newcastle legend was the complete striker - strong, reasonably quick, powerful in the air, could produce from distance and poach in the box.

It's easy to see why he scored 260 league goals.

Appearing alongside Gary Lineker, Ian Wright and Danny Murphy on BBC Two's The Premier League Show , Shearer revealed the best defender he's played against.

"The best defender I've played against, and always say, was Tony Adams," said the Match of the Day pundit.

"But not as good a footballer as some others?" asked Lineker.

"His job was to defend and he was the best defender I played against," replied Shearer.

"[I] Didn't mind playing against Sol Campbell. I felt as though I could drag Sol to where I wanted to."
