As debuts go, Alexandre Lacazette's one wasn't too bad.

The France international, who joined Arsenal from Lyon for a club-record £52million this summer, needed very little time to introduce himself to his new supporters.

Getting into the area as the Gunners mounted an attack just seconds into their Premier League opener against Leicester City, Lacazette launched himself at a Mohamed Elneny cross and hit the back of the net.

The header was the Frenchman's first shot on goal, meaning he scored on his debut, and as a result, joined an elite club of Gunners stars.

There are only six other Arsenal players who have scored on their first appearance for the club: Kevin Campbell, Steve Bould, Fredrik Ljungberg, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and Thomas Vermaelen.

Lacazette is now the seventh member of this exclusive group, which certainly contains some former Arsenal greats.

The Gunners were lucky to take all three points from their first fixture of the new season, despite the Frenchman's early goal.

Okazaki equalised for the Foxes moments after Lacazette's strike before Jamie Vardy put them ahead. Danny Welbeck fired Arsenal back into the game before the break, but Vardy struck again to reinstate Leicester's lead.

With ten minutes of the match remaining, and with Arsenal pressing for an equaliser and winner, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud grabbed goals in the space of two minutes to win the game for the Gunners.
