When Arsenal face Liverpool on Friday, Arsene Wenger will be attempting to succeed where many others have failed this season - by stopping the Reds' in-form Mo Salah.

And Gunners fans reckon they've worked out who he'll pick to thwart the free-scoring forward.

On Tuesday night, Wenger sprung a major surprise by naming summer signing Sead Kolasinac as left-back against West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Kolasinac had been left out of the previous two Premier League games at the expense of youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who is predominantly a central midfielder.

The expectation was, however, that Kolasinac would come back in to face Liverpool on Friday night for the crucial league clash in north London.

But his inclusion in the starting XI on Tuesday suggests he will not be starting against Jurgen Klopp's side on Friday, reports football.london .

And Arsenal fans believe that means 20-year-old Maitland-Niles will be up against the league's leading scorer in Salah.

Should that be the case, it will be a huge show of faith in the youngster, who Wenger hailed after Saturday's win against Newcastle.

Supporters, however, are far from convinced that would be a wise decision from Wenger.
