Arsenal's players warmed up for this weekend's Community Shield match against Chelsea - by testing themselves against a load of kids.

Arsene Wenger's side enjoyed a casual kickaround with the Junior Gunners (the team's fan club for children) and the likes of Per Mertesacker struggled to hack it.

He was put on the surface by one blonde-haired youngster who clearly had the skills to beat the BFG.

The senior players had earlier given the Junior Gunners a guard of honour upon their entrance to the pitch.

In an era where guards of honour are increasingly carried out with an air of bitterness, the players' gesture was a reminder of the good nature of the game which isn't often seen anymore.
