Arsene Wenger has promoted four players from Arsenal's Under-23 squad to the first team.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Cohen Bramall all impressed in pre-season and have been rewarded with progress to the senior group.

At just 17, Nelson is the youngest of the quartet. The young winger looks to have a very bright future and has already made his senior debut, coming on as a substitute in Arsenal's Community Shield win over Chelsea.

Left-back Bramall, 21, makes the step up after joining from non-league Hednesford Town in January. With Kieran Gibbs on his way out of the club, Wenger appears to be preparing Bramall for a back-up role this season.

Like Nelson, Willock was hugely impressive in pre-season. His two brothers left Arsenal for Manchester United and Benfica respectively, but the youngest of the three has made genuine progress in north London.

Willock, who turns 18 this month, played in central midfield during Arsenal's tour of Australia and China but is unlikely to feature much this season due to intense competition for places in the middle of the park.

Maitland-Niles, 19, is the most established of the four, having already made 10 appearances for Arsenal's senior side and spent a season on loan at Ipswich in 2015/16. Primarily a central midfielder, Maitland-Niles can also operate on the right flank.
