Arsenal will be without Shkodran Mustafi and Aaron Ramsey for Wednesday's Premier League trip to West Ham.

Mustafi missed Sunday's 1-1 draw at Southampton due to a thigh problem and is still absent this time out.

Wenger said: "Mustafi will not be back. He may be fit to face Newcastle on Saturday.

"We lost Ramsey against Southampton, everybody else should be available."

Ramsey (hamstring) joins him on the sidelines with fellow midfielder Santi Cazorla (ankle) a long-term injury absentee.

Confirming news that Ramsey is sidelined, Wenger allayed fears that the Welshman is set for a lengthly spell on the sidelines.

"It will be a short period, not a big one," he said - although this Saturday's home clash against Newcastle at the Emirates could come too soon.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Iwobi, Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud.
