The Arsenal squad are in high spirits ahead of Wednesday's meeting with Huddersfield at the Emirates.

Sunday's last gasp victory over Burnley at Turf Moor lifted the Gunners into the top four - and, crucially, ahead of fifth-place Spurs - and would have further improved the mood of Arsene Wenger's men.

The Gunners' recent home form will also have Wenger's players grinning from ear to ear ahead of the visit of David Wagner and Huddersfield on Wednesday, when another three points will be targeted.

Alexis Sanchez's late penalty at Burnley kept Arsenal smiling (

And there were plenty of smiles on show at Tuesday's nippy training session, as the players limbered up for the task ahead.

1. Mesut Ozil was back, although he wasn't taking any chances with his illness

We can see you, Mesut! (

The German was absent for Arsenal's 1-0 win at Burnley at the weekend through illness, but he's set to return to the starting XI for the visit of the newly-promoted Terriers.

With Arsene Wenger at pains to point out that both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will stay at the club beyond January , Ozil will surely have his future on his mind for the remainder of the season, as a lucrative free transfer move is chased.

2. Alexandre Lacazette - one of the most substituted players in the Premier League this season - looked focused

Lacazette has been subbed 10 times in the league this season (

That's it, Alexandre. It's just one match. Ninety minutes.

Well, maybe 80 for you. Possibly 70 if you're ahead...

3. The fearsome Steve Bould was practicing his menacing stare...

"Do you want some?" (

Because he'll give it to ya.

4. Per Mertesacker was showcasing his ability to look awkwardly tall in every photo he's ever in

He's actually really far away from the camera (

The Big FRIENDLY German missed out against Burnley but will be hoping for a ninth appearance of the season against compatriot David Wagner's team, even if the clean sheet the Gunners kept at Turf Moor might lead to Wenger keeping faith with the same defence.

5. Seriously, EVERY photo

It is actually him, not a statue (

"TIM-BER!"

6. Sead Kolasinac had some hilarious boots on, apparently

Footballers, eh? (

The Bosnian's footwear was coming in for some serious attention from his teammates as well as coach Robert Pires, who surprisingly doesn't just walk around with his World Cup winners' medal on all the time.

That's what we'd do.

7. The tackles were flying in, most notably from Hector Bellerin

The Gunners will know that they'll need to toughen up as the fixture schedule becomes even more hectic over these winter months, and that seemed to be reflected in the challenge being put in by Hector Bellerin on Francis Coquelin during Tuesday's session.

Granit Xhaka was watching on, no doubt hoping to pick up some tips.

8. Spot the ball(s)

It's behind you, lads (

Arsenal's multi-ball system wasn't going too smoothly here.

9. Alexis Sanchez was making sure he was doing the basics right

Practice makes perfect (

Half an hour of backheel training, followed by a solid hour of stepovers and then 20 minutes of nutmegs.

10. And a chilly Arsene Wenger made sure he had his giant gloves on

Can the Gunners boss get one over David Wagner's visitors?
