Over here at Mirror Football, we love a composite XI.

We love how well they always go down with you, our dear readers, how they never cause any kind of argument and how the author is always wholeheartedly agreed with when the article hits social media.

So - with two of the Premier League big boys going at it on Friday night, we thought we'd rustle up a combined XI from the stars of Arsenal and Liverpool.

And this is what we came up with...

GK: Petr Cech

This was one of the simpler choices.

I'm not going to sit here and try and convince you Cech is the same goalkeeper that won it all at Chelsea, but he is still a better option than either Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius.

The fact you can't certainly predict who will even start between the sticks for Liverpool makes this 1-0 to Arsenal.

RB: Hector Bellerin

An honourable mention for Joe Gomez, here, who has performed well this season, particularly in recent weeks.

That coupled with Bellerin's downturn in form didn't make this the easiest of decisions, but I'm still opting for the Spaniard to play at right-back.

He's probably that bit more reliable defensively, and provides an attacking threat when he turns on the afterburners.

RCB: Joel Matip

There's an outside chance Liverpool could be boosted by the return of Matip on Friday evening, although it's likely to come too soon for a start.

However, he is the Reds' best centre-back and probably better than all but one of the players from the same position in the Arsenal team.

LCB: Laurent Koscielny

Koscielny is the best centre-half on either side (

Comfortably the best centre-half at either club; an absolute shoo-in for a spot.

The fact he's more comfortable on the ball than his centre-half partner means he takes the left-sided berth, given both players are right-footed.

LB: Sead Kolasinac

Kolasinac has impressed since arriving at the Emirates (

What a signing this lad has been for Arsenal.

An absolute beast at the back, you're doing well to get past him, and a threat going forward too with a good cross on him to boot.

I like James Milner, I really do, but Kolasinac gets the left-back spot.

CDM: Emre Can

Just look at that hair (

I'm only going with one defensive midfielder (I know, I'm a maverick) and it was probably the most difficult decision to make.

Jordan Henderson or Aaron Ramsey wouldn't have looked out of place, while Gini Wijlandum also came into the thinking, but I've gone for Can.

Provides decent enough protection for the back four, good with the ball at his feet, can pick a pass and has a decent strike on him as well.

Oh, and wonderful hair. Sensational hair.

RCM: Philippe Coutinho

Coutinho has impressed despite speculation over his future (

Who knows how much longer he will be at Liverpool? But while ever he is, he gets in this team on every day of the week.

It's no secret the Brazilian wanted to swap Anfield for the Nou Camp over the summer, but he has been the utmost professional, turning in a string of fine displays for the Reds this term.

A genuine match-winner who could be pivotal on Friday evening.

LCM: Mesut Ozil

Ozil has been back to his best in recent weeks (

The German has been back to his brilliant best this season, despite continued speculation over his future.

He is yet to put pen to paper on fresh terms at the Emirates with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

But his performances of late have been outstanding and he will be key for the Gunners on Friday.

RW: Sadio Mane

Mane has continued his fine form this term (

Part of the fabled Fab Four, Mane has been brilliant since his arrival at Anfield prior to the start of last season.

He has continued his fine form this term, already netting seven times in all competitions.

Alexis Sanchez did come into the thinking, but his indifferent form means Mane gets the nod.

ST: Roberto Firmino

Firmino gets the nod int he central striking role (

Alexandre Lacazette very nearly got this spot, but given the relationship Firmino has struck up with Mane and Mo Salah, it's him that gets the nod.

The Brazilian has come on leaps and bounds since he first arrived on Merseyside and has been among the best frontmen in the Premier League this season.

He might not scare defences as much as Lacazette, but is probably in better form and arguably gives more of an all-round game.

LW: Mo Salah

Salah is the Premier League's top scorer (

Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva may have something to say about this, but Salah has been the player of the season so far in the Premier League, in the opinion of this writer.

He has taken to the English game like a duck to water, already scoring 14 times in the league and adding six more on the continent.

Will he be the match-winner on Friday night?

Full side (4-1-2-3): Cech; Bellerin, Koscielny, Matip, Kolasinac; Can; Coutinho, Ozil; Mane, Firmino, Salah
