Gunners legend Lee Dixon believes Arsene Wenger isn't the man to fix Arsenal's current problems.

The north Londoners succumbed to a fourth defeat this season when they lost 3-1 to Manchester City at the weekend.

The loss means Arsenal now sit sixth in the league, 11 points behind Pep Guardiola's unbeaten men.

Speaking on BBC 5 Live , former Gunners defender Dixon said Wenger has created an environment where players don't know what they're doing off the ball.

"I think Arsenal's problems are unfixable by Arsene," said Dixon. "He's created an environment that doesn't know what they're doing without the ball.

"For me, it's simple. They can beat anybody on their day going forward, they can lose to anybody on their day defensively.

"That summed it up on the weekend against City. The Lacazette thing is a different issue. Why he's not playing him I don't know.

"You play Sanchez up front, who is a chaser of the ball. If he loses it he will chase. So if you know you've got him doing that then you've got to back him up with people doing it behind him. And he didn't have that.

"He hasn't got that because they don't know how to do it on a regular basis. They are not a pressing side, they do it now and again. They did it against Chelsea, really well in the cup final.

"You think, 'ah wow, they're back'. Then they go and perform like they did against Watford. And then they try and press Manchester City, one of the best passing teams in the league - how is that allowed to happen?

"If you're not a pressing side, you have to press for months and years at a time in order to get it right.

"It was disastrous against City."
