Arsene Wenger will NEVER attempt to sign Harry Kane for Arsenal, the Gunners boss has confirmed.

After a slow start to the season Kane has netted five goals in his last three appearances for the White Hart Lane club ahead of Sunday's North London derby.

Kane is the sort of striker Arsenal have been crying out for since the departure of Robin van Persie in 2012 but Wenger says there's no chance of the 22-year-old moving to the Emirates.

“He has great qualities and he will make a great career," Wenger said.

“Once a player is at Spurs you don’t even consider him any more.”

The only player to join Arsenal directly from Tottenham during the Wenger era is Sol Campbell.

Campbell played 315 times for Spurs between 1992 and 2001 before signing for the Gunners, where he won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.

The former England defender was subsequently turned on by Spurs supporters who nicknamed him Judas for joining their fiercest rivals.
